The parliamentary factions of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) and the Democratic Party “Milliy Tiklanish” (“National Revival”) have signed an agreement establishing a “Progressive Bloc” in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan. The announcement was published on the official website of the lower house.

According to the statement, the bloc includes 93 deputies, forming a parliamentary majority and becoming the leading political force in the chamber. The document notes that both parties share similar right-leaning ideological positions.

The main goal of the bloc is to ensure the effective implementation of the parties’ programs by consolidating their efforts. The statement highlights that under President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s leadership, Uzbekistan has undergone “historic” reforms in areas such as entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, social protection, poverty reduction, and the enhancement of the country’s “economic and international” standing.

“The bloc considers the consistent and resolute continuation of these reforms the only correct path to national prosperity,” the statement reads.

The new alliance has pledged full support for the implementation of the “Uzbekistan — 2030” Strategy and intends to mobilize all its resources toward that end.

The “Progressive Bloc” has identified the following key priorities:

✔️ Reducing state involvement in the economy, boosting export capacity, and transitioning monopolized sectors to market-based principles;
✔️ Ensuring the inviolability of private property rights and improving living standards through increased economic activity;
✔️ Opposing any threats to freedom of speech and supporting the development of independent, non-state media;
✔️ Improving education quality, developing human capital, supporting non-state educational institutions, and fostering healthy competition between public and private schools;
✔️ Digitizing the healthcare system, introducing medical insurance, and promoting private healthcare providers;
✔️ Simplifying tax administration, ensuring fair and equal tax conditions for all entrepreneurs, and maintaining stable tax policies;
✔️ Cutting government spending, reducing bureaucracy through digitization, and expanding private-sector participation in public service delivery;
✔️ Creating a private pension savings system that offers citizens choice and transparency through competitive market mechanisms;
✔️ Ensuring national sovereignty and security.

Representatives of UzLiDeP and Milliy Tiklanish say the formation of the bloc serves national interests and marks an important step toward transforming Uzbekistan into a more advanced, powerful, fair, and modern state.

“The parties will continue their work effectively to justify the trust and support of their electorate,” the joint statement emphasized.
