Tajikistan has reached an agreement with Presight (UAE) and Scale AI (USA) to establish a national data center and GPU cluster in Dushanbe to support the country’s artificial intelligence development efforts. The agreement was announced by Tajikistan’s Ministry of Industry and New Technologies following a working meeting held on May 26, chaired by Minister Sherali Kabir.

The parties discussed key areas of cooperation under the country’s National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence Development, including:

👉 the launch of a Presight pilot project on computer vision algorithms as part of Dushanbe’s “Smart City” initiative;

👉 the establishment of regional offices for both companies in Area AI Tech Park—the region’s first AI-focused innovation park with a self-regulatory framework;

👉 the creation of a GPU cluster and a national cloud data center powered by green energy;

👉 collaboration with local Tajik AI companies;

👉 workforce training, research partnerships, and the localization of AI solutions.

The minister emphasized that artificial intelligence is a strategic priority for Tajikistan’s long-term economic development, and partnerships with leading global tech firms will accelerate the country’s progress in this field. The meeting concluded with plans to draft memorandums of understanding and launch joint initiatives by the end of 2025.

The Area AI Tech Park project in Dushanbe aims to boost AI-driven software exports and raise AI’s contribution to Tajikistan’s GDP to 5% by 2040. The park will comprise five zones: specialist training and employment, a startup hub, fundamental research, a green data center, and a regional AI regulation coordination center.

Tajikistan became the first Central Asian country to adopt a national AI development program when President Emomali Rahmon approved the National Strategy for AI Development in 2022.
