The presidents of three Central Asian states congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky on Ukraine’s national holiday, Independence Day, celebrated on August 24. Their greetings became known through Zelensky’s posts on X.com, where he thanked each leader for their warm wishes.
“I sincerely congratulate you and the entire people of Ukraine on the national holiday—Independence Day. I am convinced that relations between our countries, built on traditional friendship and the principles of long-term cooperation, will continue to develop in the interests of our peoples. I take this opportunity to wish you good health, family happiness, and success in your responsible work, and to the Ukrainian people—peace and prosperity,” read the message from Uzbekistan’s president, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
“Dear Volodymyr Oleksandrovych! I wholeheartedly congratulate you on Ukraine’s national holiday—Independence Day. I sincerely wish that the fundamental principles of this solemn day will remain the unshakable foundation of your country’s prosperity, sovereignty, and unity. I hope that multifaceted cooperation between Kazakhstan and Ukraine will continue to develop in the spirit of traditional friendship and mutual understanding. I also take this opportunity to wish you, Mr. President, success and happiness in your responsible work, and the friendly people of Ukraine—peace and well-being,” wrote Kazakhstan’s president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. His press office, Akorda, also confirmed that he sent a message to Zelensky.
“Your Excellency! I warmly congratulate you and the entire people of your country on Ukraine’s Independence Day. I take this opportunity to wish you good health, well-being, and success in state affairs,” read the telegram from Turkmenistan’s president, Serdar Berdymukhamedov.
For his part, Zelensky expressed gratitude to the leaders of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan for their greetings. He emphasized the importance of their support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and humanitarian initiatives—in particular, aid to Ukrainian children. Zelensky underlined his commitment to further constructive dialogue and cooperation with these countries.
