The forum “Heritage of a Great Past — Foundation for an Enlightened Future” is organized at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and focuses on shaping the concept of the Center for Islamic Civilization — a megaproject implemented under his leadership. It will take place on September 26–27 and will bring together over 200 scholars and experts from more than 20 countries. High-level representatives from national and international scientific organizations, including TURKSOY, ISESCO, IRSICA, and Al-Furqan, will participate as experts. The event will be covered by more than 10 media outlets worldwide, including Euronews, Al Jazeera, and Mir.
The Center for Islamic Civilization is located near the Khast-Imam complex. The building is designed in the style of medieval architectural monuments, with four portals each 34 meters high and a central dome 65 meters high. It houses a Hall of the Quran, a conference hall for 460 people, and a museum whose exhibitions cover the entire history of Uzbekistan, from pre-Islamic times to the present day. The CIC is intended to be a platform for studying the heritage of ancestors and its contemporary interpretation, in collaboration with the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and scientific and educational centers worldwide.
