The United States and Tajikistan have concluded commercial deals worth more than $3 billion. The expansion of cooperation between the two countries was discussed during a meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Emomali Rahmon, who visited Washington to participate in the “Central Asia–U.S.” (“C5+1”) summit, according to the U.S. State Department.
The department noted that a major agreement involves Tajikistan’s airline Somon Air, which intends to purchase aircraft and aviation support systems from the American corporation Boeing. Preliminary information indicates that the contract will amount to $3.2 billion. The order is expected to create about 11,500 jobs in the United States. This joint project reflects Tajikistan’s confidence in U.S. aerospace technology, the State Department added.
Representatives of the Central Asian republic also signed an agreement with Transparent Earth to provide technical assistance for projects in Tajikistan’s mining and agricultural sectors. The partnership will include remote sensing operations, including surveys of areas suitable for extracting critical minerals. The deal is valued at $32.5 million.
Coca-Cola has announced an additional $9 million investment in its plant in Dushanbe to expand production and the range of products manufactured in the Tajik capital.
Several projects in the information technology sector were also unveiled. Tajikistan has established a partnership with Starlink to provide the country with digital infrastructure.
American companies Perplexity AI and Zypl AI confirmed their participation in a project to implement an artificial intelligence–based web browser adapted for use in Tajik government institutions.
Zypl AI, in collaboration with SuperMicro and Cerebris, also plans to develop AI infrastructure for data centers in Tajikistan. The project is expected to position the country as one of Central Asia’s leading exporters of IT services and artificial intelligence technologies.
