Sadyr Japarov Announces Lifting of Ban on Kyrgyz Airlines' Flights to Europe

Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Japarov has revealed that the republic's airlines are expected to be removed from the European Union's Air Safety List next year, allowing carriers to operate direct flights to European countries. The head of state made this announcement on November 27 in Berlin during a meeting with Johan Pelissier, head of Airbus Europe.

According to Japarov, active work has been carried out in recent years to improve aviation safety, implement international standards, and modernize infrastructure, significantly increasing the chances of Kyrgyz passenger carriers having restrictions lifted. The president emphasized that exclusion from the blacklist will open new opportunities for direct flights to Europe.

In his conversation with Pelissier, the leader of the Central Asian republic noted that developing the aviation industry is one of the key priorities for Kyrgyzstan. Consequently, the state intends to augment company fleets with new modern aircraft.

Japarov highlighted support for the national airline «Asman Airlines,» specifically adding that the first phase of cooperation with Airbus Europe plans to lease two aircraft — A320 and A321 models. These aircraft will be used to operate flights from Bishkek to Paris, Berlin, and London.

If operations are successful, the Kyrgyz carrier will expand its fleet in partnership with Airbus in the second phase, Japarov summarized.

The President of Kyrgyzstan also invited Pelissier to visit the republic in the near future and continue dialogue directly with representatives of the country's aviation industry.
